As a little girl, Ruthie drove her family wild by constantly singing into the handle of her skipping rope. Later she studied music at university but then did the sensible thing and got a “real” job, raising several million pounds for charity as a professional event manager.

Only after meeting double bassist Jonny Gee - who caught her singing along to all the songs he was recording with other artists -

did she revert to her first love.

Ruthie has performed at festivals and venues all over the UK, including Pizza on the Park, Edinburgh Jazz Festival, the Café de

Paris, Marlborough Jazz Festival, as well as in New York and Wellington, New Zealand.

She has also performed at 10 Downing Street and as a warm up act for Sting at Elton John’s White Tie & Tiara Ball.

Her influences are broad ranging, from European political cabaret, jazz and latin standards, soul, funk and 20th century classical music.
